Pavicevska Watermill

In the village of Bistrica, the watermills are like keepers of time,

grinding the past and present into a unique symphony that never stops playing.

About Bistrica

The village of Bistrica is one of the older settlements in this region. The first written mention of this place is in the Charter of Prince Lazar during the founding of the Gornjak Monastery in 1378.

Pavicevska Watermill

The Milošević Radisav Watermill (Pavićeva Watermill) was likely built in the early twentieth century. Its base dimensions are 4.60 by 3.10 meters. It is constructed on high foundations of rubble stone, with walls made using bondruk technique filled with oak beams, and it is covered with tiles. The watermill has one room with a single milling stone, and there was an open hearth in one part of the room.

The watermill has been regularly maintained, and the mechanism functions well. However, in the past few years, the owner has poured concrete over the stone foundations, partitioned the interior space with a brick wall, and clad the entire area with paneling. These modifications have devastated the watermill and caused it to lose its monumental values.
